Towards the end of this term we focused on description writing. We collected all we had learned about using our senses in our writing and wrote these descriptions about the bush. We then illustrated them, focusing on having our descriptions and our illustrations work together. Here is a small sample of some of our descriptions.
The crunchy leaves and the lonely birds were singing and the leaves were falling gracefully like ballerinas.

The birds were black and white and the leaves were swaying and swerving in the howling wind. The bush looked light and dark and freaky. The birds were whistling and I was singing with the birds.
By Blaze
Birds flapped their colourful wings as the wind blew past them The green trees rustled in the wind. Brown autumn leaves fell to the ground like dancing ribbons. Tall trees swayed in the wind like ballerinas dancing to the music of the birds. The dewy wet grass soaked through my socks as I walked.

Up the tree the bird was resting on its nest. There was a big tree and the leaves were falling down. I felt itchy bites. I heard birds chirping and I smelled air.

In the bush there were humungous tall trees swaying in the freshly minty air of nature. All different insects were laying their head down in their cosy habitat where its peaceful flowers were twisting slowly in the air. Leaves started to crunch as birds walked and sang along the bushes.
